This has been a hard week. I wasn’t even sure I would sit down to write, but here I am. Maybe this is super dorky, but hey, it’s just us; when I am struggling I sometimes read my previous content. This leads me to a simple exercise you can use when you are having a hard day:

• Ask Yourself This Question to Soften Your Perspective

What happened to you?

I often skip this question when I’m in a spiral of anxiety and use this one instead: What is wrong with me?

The first one gives me a self-compassionate context to see the whole of what I am going through, the second one piles blame and shame upon a already hurting heart.

Please use the first one.

Answer this clearly and it will illuminate your heart with forgiveness.
